Chris Fouch is riding high.
First, he gets the opportunity to return to Madison Square Garden for the first time in his college career, to play in the NIT Season Tip-Off. Then, he and his Drexel teammates take No. 4 (now No. 2) Arizona down to the wire, ultimately losing by only four points. Then, he and the Dragons beat a solid Alabama team to win third place at the NIT Season Tip-Off.
Now, for his efforts, Fouch has been awarded CAA Player of the Week honors.
The sixth year senior guard led the Dragons offense in the two games, averaging 24 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists.
Fouch scored 29 points against Arizona, just one shy of his career high. He shot 11 for 27 from the field and scored nearly half of Drexel’s 62 points. He followed up the performance with 19 points in a win against Alabama on Friday, shooting 7 for 21 from the field.
The Dragons will play their home opener on Wednesday against Cleveland State at 7 p.m.
